10-20-2004, 2:30 twiggins@ibml.com Joined on 03-03-2004 Posts 1 Error: ScanSoft DLLs Not Loaded Issue Currently with Windows 2000 Lead's version 14 OCR redist files must have some dependency that is not included in the base Windows 2000 install.  Once I apply the security updates, etc., via the Windows Update facility Leads version 14 OCR functionality works. Has anyone else encountered this issue?  I have reported to our support rep with Lead.  I would like to know what exactly is the dependency.    Report

I am not sure what is the reason but as I know the Leadtoos are using license from ScanSoft (now called nuance ). In the same time the Microsoft Office 2003 Document Imaging tool is using from nuance the OCR Omnipage 11. So here is the conflict of the libraries. But I do not have time to investigate it.    Report

09-01-2006, 17:01 Otis Joined on 10-19-2004 Charlotte, NC Posts 309 Re: Error: ScanSoft DLLs Not Loaded Issue This could have been the cause of the problem if the original OCR libraries that were deployed with Microsoft Office 2003 Document Imaging were older and caused a compatibility issue. I have been testing many many OCR Trial versions during the last month.  The LeadTools demo was working fine and because it was the only one doing all I needed, I uninstalled all the other OCR trial software. Since that time, I started receiving the ScanSoft DLLs Not Loaded. I uninstalled LeadTools demo and OCR RunTime and reinstalled.  Same problem occurs.   From above messages I see you refer to OmniPage software.  That was one of my trial software, but I can't reinstall it, it has expired.  I wonder if uninstalling the OmniPage software could have cause problems. Anyone can help me?  I was close to buying the product, but if I can't make it work anymore, its not good.    Report

The "ScanSoft DLLs are not loaded" error is generated by the command "rasterDocument.SaveResultsToFile". I have not installed the ScanSoft SDK at any time but I do have a full installation of MS Office 2003. I have removed the Document Imaging components out of the MS Office installation but still have the same issue. Any suggestion will be helpful please.    Report

Or does it only happen inside your own application? If it fails when using our demos, I suggest that you download the LEADTOOLS OCR engine from our website. If the problem only happens inside your own code, please tell me which LEADTOOLS SDK you have and what LEADTOOLS programming interface (DLL API, C++ Class library, .NET, etc.) you use.
