Dithering Tricks
Reply Quote
I am working on an application and my customer is requesting a change.   They have found that in CorelDraw the Dither option allows you to control the intensity of the dither (CorelDraws terms).  What this seems to do is allow for areas of the image to become patches of solid color instead of the 'dots'.  How do I do this?  Thanks in advance

I am using the VB 6.0 version (not .NET)

Our Raster Imaging toolkit has different dithering techniques; you can find a list of these techniques in the "iDither" topic in our Main OCX help file. To see each technique effect you can use our VB Main Demo as follows:
1. Load any colored image.
2. From Color menu select "Transform" then "Color Resolution" to open the color resolution dialog
3. From the Color Resolution dialog, you can check the dithering techniques.

For code sample, please refer to the "ColorRes method" topic in the help file.

Adnan ~

I have played with that, but I can't get what I'm looking for.  In CorelDraw, within (for example) the Floyd Stein dither (see image - http://www.viacad.com/postedfiles/leadtools/DitherIntensity.bmp) it allows for some further control over the itensity of the dither.  My customer is not happy with "Floyd Stein", but likes to use CorelDraw because of the intensity control.  If I can offer my customer this type of control, my customer will be much happier.

I am afraid that the dithering function we have do not have a dither intensity parameter. If you would like to ask our engineers to add it in the future, you can post a feature request using the following web page:
http://www.leadtools.com/DevServices/Feature-Request.htm
If you do that, please provide as much information about the requirements you have
