File Name as date & time

Is it possible to make the filename automatically be the date + time?
I have a server that is automatically printing to a ascii file, but the file name is always the same.  I want it to be unique, so date + time should work.
Is it possible?

You can do this if you save each page as a separate file and then change the naming options.  I've attached a screenshot of the naming options dialog.

I would also like to have the time date feature as part of the file name. We only print a single page for each print as it is just a batch report. Is it possible to have the file renaming features the same as the page renaming features? Thanks

I don't fully understand what you're trying to do.

Are you saying you want to convert multiple pages into a single document, but still implement the automatic renaming features?  If so, just specify the name you want when you print it.  There's no need for any kind of automated printing becuase you're only printing a single file.

No to multiple pages! All we are doing is printing a single page at the end of batch cycle of a machine. Before using ePrint5 the single page would come off a laser printer and the printed page got archived. We are now printing using ePrint5 to the laser printer and a .pdf file. We would like the file name to include the date and time as part of the name. It is already part of the file description but we would like it in the file name. Thanks

I still don't think I'm understanding your goal.  The dialog in the previous posts IS for the filename.

Also, you said:

No to multiple pages! All we are doing is printing a single page

This is contadictory and I don't understand what you're trying to do.

Let me try this one more time.........Under the naming options for multiple pages there is the possibility of using date and time as part of the file name. We are only printing a single page! So when we print to a file we can't add the time and date to the file name as it is not an option under file rename options as it is under the multiple page naming options. I hope this makes sense? Thanks

This is not possible then, nor is there a need.  Since you are only printing ONE page, then simply add the date and time manually into the filename.

This is an automatically generated batch report from a machine that takes place several times per day. This is why we would like the time and date as part of the file name. This feature is already part of the multiple page naming is there a possibility that it could be added to the file renaming too? Many thanks and Happy New Year!

Ok, now I see.  Thanks for your patience =).

Ok, we have added you to the feature request.  We will reply to this post again whenever this new feature gets added.  Currently, there is no ETA for when this will occur.
