While trying to open a PCL file, I get the following error: -403: Vector Misc Capabilities required to... Does that mean we need to buy an add-in? Which one?    Report

08-26-2007, 12:39 Adnan Ismail Joined on 07-31-2006 Posts 1,362 Re: Reading PCL files: Error -403 To be able to load or save vector formats, such as PCL, DXF and SVG, you must own a LEADTOOLS Vector Imaging Pro toolkit. If you use the 'nag' edition of our LTKRN15u.DLL, you will be able to try vector formats, because the nag kernel unlocks all features including vector. For vector file format there are specific functions, such as L_VecLoadFile. But as raster image tools support multipage, the vector images module seems not to support it. Am I right? We will be able to display single page PCL but not multipage?    Report

I'm about to fill a feature request but one more question before this: I have an example of pcl file. When I open it with another tool (PCLTool, The file is ok. When I open it with the Leadtools demo program ( Vector Imaging pro / API / 01 Main Vector 32-bit Demo ), there are 2 frames that are not correctly positionned / sized / filled. And a column title containing 3 words ( 'Valeurs de référence' ), each word is printed on top of the other. Is there a way to get a better rendering ? I join exemple files, one is the original PCL file I wish to render with Leadtools, the other is this pcl file converted to PDF using PCLTool.    Report

I am also attaching a scanned page in a ZIP file that shows how the image looks when dumped to a PCL laser printer. I reported this to our engineers. And ok, I understand the PCL standard seems quite permissive and we are not expecting your product to match exactly what our customers get with their own tool. But if you can come closer to an HL laser printer rendering, we would be satisfied. Cheers!    Report

The fix is now available in the latest LEADTOOLS v15 patches. To get the patches, please send your toolkit serial number to support@leadtools.com and mention this post.
