auto detecting the orientation of an image

We scanned many images using leadtools document imaging and stored with CCITT G4 format.

We burnned these images and send to our customer and they said that all the images are viewed in the correct orientations without any problem.

However, they need to print an A3 image with landscape and an A4 image with portrait when using A4 paper without adjust any printer settings.

They can achieve this with their own CCITT G4 images those are not created by our own applications.

I am curious is there any tag or comment that indicates the printing orientation?

I know I can get the right printing orientation using the width and height radio of an image.

However, their printing application is not our product and it seems that we couldn't contact the original company who developed the printing application.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

If you send us some sample images that their application handles correctly, along with an image from your application, we will try to compare the 2 sets of tags and find out what that application is looking for.

If you want to send the files, please put them in a ZIP or RAR file. You can also send them to support@leadtools.com
