LEAD MCMP video codec prob

Hi there

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me here ~ thanks in advance. For the sake of brevity, I'll paste the mail that I sent to LEADsupport.

============================

Hi there

I've just tried to activate the video codec ~ LEAD MCMP/MJPEG codec (2.0) (VFW) and it won't "enable."

Let me explain what happened with the hope that you might be able to advise
me.

Some time ago, my anti-virus program informed me that a file in my existing LEAD MCMP video codec had been corrupted and my only option was to remove the file. When I did this, the codec no longer worked and streaming video was constantly being interrupted. When I looked at the status of the codec in the "device manager" it said that it wasn't functioning properly.

I downloaded a new codec from your site a few weeks ago, but didn't pay until 11th March 2008. You sent me a serial number by e-mail. I inserted the serial number into the appropriate field in your activation utility, click "next" at the bottom and and received the message "You have
successfully activated your product. Thank you for your support of LEAD
Technologies, Inc."

I decided to try a streaming video so I went to youtube and played one, only
to find that I've still got the same problem with a frequently interrupted
video stream. I then went to the "device manager" ~ clicked on "video
codecs" ~ clicked on the "properties tab" ~ doubled clicked on the codec I
purchased and although it says, "Status: Driver is enabled and functioning
properly," when I click on "settings," the check-box named "Enable" at the
top is "grayed out" and the codec doesn't seem to be working properly.

Have I left it too long between downloading the product and paying for it
and need to download it again? If I do, do I use the same serial number that
you provided at the time of purchase? If this is not likely to cure the
problem, can you advise me on what will? All my other

I look forward to hearing from you soon concerning this, as I've not been
able to view streaming video properly for some time now . Thank you in
advance.

Kind regards...........Cathy.

Cathy,

There are dozens of different types of compression used in video files. The codec you bought from us can only be used to playback videos that contain either of 2 types of compression:
- Either MCMP video compression
- Or MJPEG video compression
If the videos you're trying to watch use any other compression format, our codec will not help you.

When you say "frequently interrupted video stream", does this mean the video plays and you can see the video, but it is not smooth, or do you mean something else?
