finding zones crashes

Hello,

my processing software crashes when trying to find zones with the attached input file. I was able to reproduce it with the Leadtools ocr demo tool.

- open file
- insert image
- find zones

it takes long (longer than usual) and then generates a popup saying "this application could not be started because LecsoMgr.dll could not be found. Reinstalling this application might solve this problem" (rough translation). After that it crashes (not always though, then it just says it failed find zones).

Are you guys able to reproduce the problem?

thanks
matthias

btw, this is not the only file generating this problem. just today I encountered a tif generating the same error. when run in my console app, I get a -1230 return code (general protection fault) for finding zones.

Matthias,
I reported this issue to our engineers in incident number 7282AMN. Please keep this number for future reference.
About facing the same problem with a tiff file, please send me a sample tiff so I can send it to our engineers.

This is a follow up on incidents 7282AMN and 7283AMN. Our engineers marked these incidents as Fix. The fix is a workaround to be able to OCR the images you sent me without the crash.

To apply this workaround, please use "Legacy" parser method when you click on the "Find Zones" to avoid the crash.

Hi,

I'm facing with the similar problems (v 14.5.0.77). You can check this using yours OCR Demo and the file I attached. It crashes when you run Find Zones function.

I have tested the issue here and I did not get the crash when setting the Find zone filter to Legacy. I tested on our Main OCR demo that ships with LEADTOOLS version 14.5. Did you test using the same demo?

But this is still only workaround. I don't want to use Legacy parser by default and I don't want to give to the users possibility of changing parser. Are you planning to fix that bug?

Hi,

if you don't want to provide an option, I guess your only option is to try out the new Leadtools v16, as this comes with an upgraded Omnipage engine. I didn't try it out myself yet.

if you try it out, let me know ;)

Please note that v14.5 is out of production and our engineers no longer make any changes or fixes in this version. This means I recommend you see mattie's suggestion of trying this in the new version (v16) and if you face problem with it, we can report it to our engineers if necessary.
