LEAD Command Line File Converter
Reply Quote
Hi,

Regarding LEAD Command Line File Converter.

I was wondering why setting 98, "JPEG 4:2:2 compressed Exif file" (FILE_EXIF_JPEG) produces a file with a .tif extension?

If I rename it to .JPG it views OK on my camera and loads fine into all my photo software.

If you have any technical references as to why such an image is classed as TIF rather than JPG I'd willingly read them.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt,

There are 2 types of Exif. One of them supports uncompressed TIFF images, the other contains JPEG-compressed images. That's probably why the programmer made it TIF.
However, I want to report this to our engineering department.

Thanks, Adnan.

I genuinely think this is a mistake/bug in the file extension. The file itself is definitely a JPEG.
