LEAD Tools with IDEA Foresight I-50 capture card
Reply Quote

Hi support,

I am using LEAD Tools 14 (with 14.5 patches) with Visual Basic.

My application is multimedia capture application.  I am using various USB and PCI capture cards like EverMedia, Pinacle etc.

For one specific need, I want to use IDEA Foresight I-50 capture card.  I installed that card on my machine and run my application.  The card get populated in my video devices list.  But as I select the card, it is showing reference memory error (with option on it asking whether you want to send the problem to microsoft) making windows unstable and visual basic environment crashes.

I also tried same thing with LEAD Tools Multimedia demo.  The card get populated in the video devices menu.  When I click on video device menu to select foresight card, the fatal error occur and application get crashed.

I studied more and found that, I need to create chp file.  If I use chp file apporch, I need to specify path of created chp file while connecting to device.  I can do this using controls those are installed with card setup.  But I donot want to use those controls.  I want to use ltmmCapture control.  I have read somewhere that LEAD Tools have full support for Foresight cards.

- How can I use Foresight card with ltmmCapture control ?

- Using Foresight card, would I be able to capture image and video simultaneously using the techneque you suggested in my another thread subjected "Simultaneous Image and Video capture" ?

Amit,
Since the the Foresight card shows in the list of devices, this means it has a driver compatible with DirectShow.
About the problem, if you insert the card's video source filter into MS Graph Edit, and try to render the output pin (usually named Capture), does this pin render correctly? If yes, can you play the graph and get video data to display?

If you don't have Graph Edit, you can get it from this post:

Yes the card is with DirectShow compatible.

It also plays the graph in GrapgEdit.

I also works fine with LEAD Tools demo.

It is not working with my application because I am using video call back finter to acquire images simultaneously while capturing video.

I can send you demo sample to test this at your end if you need.

Waiting for reply

Amit,

If you try the same thing using our Screen Capture video source instead of the capture card, does it have the same problem?

If yes, please try to isolate the problem in a small test program (not your full application) and send it to me in a ZIP or RAR file.
