DLL Load error
Hi,
I recently upgraded the Leadtools dlls used by my application from 14.5.0.16 to 14.5.0.68. My previous application worked and deployed without any issues. However, ever since replacing the old dlls with the new ones, I get the following error when installing my application on a new machine:
Could not load file or assembly 'Leadtools.Kernel, Version=14.5.0.68, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=9cf889f53ea9b907' or one of its dependencies. This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1) 28/12/2007 4:28:24 PM
Incidentally, I do not get the problem on my development machine. Is this a licensing issue? Do I need a new unlock code to use the new dlls?
Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Francois

Re: DLL Load error
This is not an answer, but a suggestion of actions that can help.
Do a search for SysInternal's Process Monitor. Use this tool while the dll's are loading. Process Monitor shows you the dll's that are being loaded as well as the location that it's looking for. There may be another dll that it's looking for that isn't in the right location.
I use this tool a lot when troubleshooting "Can not load" errors.

Re: DLL Load error
Hi,
Just further to my previous post, I have now reverted back to the old Leadtools dlls, with everything else in my build exactly the same and the problem disappears. Could you please tell me what I might need to add to get the new dlls to work. I have tried the process monitor as suggested above but this unforetunately did not help me pinpoint the problem.
This is rather urgent as we were hoping to release our new version in mid January and were not expecting deployment issues from upgrading the Leadtools dlls.
Thanks.
Francois

Re: DLL Load error
You need to download install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86/x64) as our latest DLLs have been built with these Microsoft DLLs.
