Resizing a bitmap image
Reply Quote
hey guys

just a quick query, need some advice

Basically i have a bitmap image say 100x100px and i need to resize this by a large scale factor eg 100/1000/10000, and still maintain a reasonable level of image quality and avoid pixelation.

I have looked into converting the image to a vector and then resizing the vector image then saving it as a bitmap, but cant find anything to make it easy.

Any ideas on other ways this can be done, eg using leadtools, or can it even be done

thanks
R

Going from raster to vector is a very big task, and not all things can be vectorized in an image.  We don't have anything in our toolkit that will go from raster to vector, but we can go from vector to raster.  Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW have vecotrizing methods.  Have you looked at those applications?  What kind of images are you dealing with?  Are they photographs or are they diagrams (contain simple shapes)?
