Video Streaming and Capture to File (yes another :P )
Reply Quote
hi, i'm an old user of another capture library(ICimaging) that cannot take sound.
Now i need to change the library because we are looking for some features.
We need to capture the file AND send the stream to the local network.
1) I've see that is possible using the sending the stream and convert tecnique, but there is any example already done to test this solution?
At 98% of installations we have only the capture (no streaming).
2) We usually capture in Dv or divX, the streaming/convert method can have some drawback in quality (i use convert -compression- upon a stream - comrpessed-)?
My idea was to always stream+convert the video and cut only the client stuff if not needed(98%of installed base...).
Option2 is to do 2 rutines, one to capture and one to capture/stream.
3)The convert controll have all the stuff like the pause? Because we need to pause the capture (but go on with the streaming)

It appears this forum post contains more than one issue. One of them is about deployment problems on some machines and the other is about the need to pause capturing. Is this correct? If yes, please create a different thread for each topic.

About the deployment problem, what is it exactly that doesn't work on the machines that have the problem? If you copy our demo programs to these machines and try to run them there, do they work?

I've not downloaded the multimedia lib, before that i've search in the forum if lead multimedia can support our needed.
I need to do Video Streaming and Capture to a File(all together) .
Exist an example that already do this work?
we need:
Capture a videosource and an audio source (microphone)
Do an avi file (DV or DivX)
With the same video/audio I need to do a conference with another PC (lan 100mb). Guys at the second can speak (microphone)  but no video is needed.
Also i need to pause the capture to a file but the conference should be live.
Can i do this with LT multimedia?

PS: for the pause I've read that i can stream the source and record it with the conversion control. If the conversion have a pause method, is all ok :)

You might be able to create your application with our Multimedia SDK. Our convert control allows pausing, so you can pause the conversion process.
However, we have not tried pausing a conversion that has its source from a Network connection, so I'm not sure if this will work like you want it or not.

I recommend that you download our Multimedia toolkit from our website and try the free evaluation version. With the toolkit we ship a pre-built demos and source examples. I suggest that you look at them.
